Dear student,
Welcome to this online course ‘Remaining at school’. A course for students with mental health and/or cognitive problems who experience barriers in continuing their education. You can think of barriers such as:
* Planning
* Stick to the planning
* Collaborate with fellow students
* Giving a presentation in the classroom
* Being able to keep your attention on a task

What is the aim of this course?
The intention is that after following this course you will have more tools (skills and resources) to continue following the study you are following with more success and satisfaction. You know which barriers you experience when studying, have listed solutions for these obstacles and made a plan to implement these solutions. You evaluate yourself whether your plan works and whether it needs to be adjusted.
The course is based on the choose-get-keep model of Supported Education. Supported Education is included as an effective youth intervention in the database of the Netherlands Youth Institute (NJI). If you want to know more about Supported Education, click here.
The most important principle of this course is that you can start working yourself in a structured way, without extra guidance, to maintain your education. You follow the course in your own time and when it suits you best. If you want to take the course together with someone else (family, friend, fellow student, teacher or social worker), this is of course also possible!

Who is the course intended for?
The course is intended for students with mental health and/or cognitive problems who experience obstacles in following their studies. An important condition is that you are motivated and do not doubt the usefulness and your interest in the study itself. To determine if the course is useful for you, answer the questions on the Worksheet Determine if this is the right course for you.

What does this course cost?
The course costs you as a student nothing, except your own efforts. The course was made possible in part by a financial contribution from Triodos Foundation.

After you have received the login details, you can access the course and you can start with module 1. The Introduction: click here
