Currently, there are various support services for students with disabilities at universities in Sweden. Despite this, the support given to students with Asperger’s syndrome is often not enough: many of these students leave their studies prematurely or have difficulty getting their studies done. Often it is not the study in itself that is the problem, but the broader and elusive “daily practice while studying”. Similar experiences have been collected among other universities in England, Scotland and Canada. The RUSTA-project aims to identify, describe and distribute structured methods for individually tailored support around the entire study situation for students with Asperger Syndrome at colleges and universities.
