TExAs is a study center that supports people with Asperger syndrome and other neuropsychiatric disabilities to qualify for and carry out studies in high school, adult education, folk high school or at college / university. This takes the form of providing a customized learning environment with associated support in close collaboration with different providers in the region of Västerbotten, Sweden.
The services the study center provides, are based on the principles of Supported Education, which is a model developed for the target group to get better access to higher education – even if one has a mental disability. The Study Center meets the needs of the students concerning study support, study techniques and study motivation. An important aspect of the support is also the focus on the individual´s whole life situation such as work, leisure and health.
The study center is a collaboration between Urkraft (work integrated social enterprize), Skellefteå Municipality, Psychiatric Clinic in Skellefteå and the Association Collaboration Skellefteå. Other cooperation partners include; Association Attention, Campus Skellefteå, Umeå University, Luleå University of Technology, Colleges, Employment programs and projects and the Social Insurance office and Employment office.

She has broad experience with developing methods and strategies for collaboration and working in major project partnerships. Katrin received the Västerbotten County Council psychiatry price in 2008.
